Recipe adapted from Nigella Lawson’s “How to be a Domestic Goddess”
120g Brown Sugar
5ml Vanilla Essence
85g Dark Chocolate, chopped
5g Baking Soda
125 ml Boiling Water
5g Instant Coffee Powder
Step 1:In a bowl, whisk butter and sugar till well combined.
Step 2: Add egg and vanilla essence to the mixture.
Step 3: Melt the chocolate and fold into the mixture.
Step 4: Add boiling water along with the dry ingredients spoon by spoon.
Step 5: Mix until you get a smooth batter.
Step 6: Pour into a greased/ lined loaf tin.
Step 7: Bake at 180C for 35-40 minutes.
Serve with chocolate sauce or ice cream!
