Hope you enjoyed reading Open by Andre Agassi. It’s honestly one of my favourite books and I was so immersed in it the first time I read it. We are always told that to be successful we have to be passionate and love what we do. One of the few lines at the start of this book were “I play tennis for a living even though I hate tennis, hate it with a dark and secret passion, and always have”. This idea that someone who is the best at something and still hates what he does just blew my mind. As I read the book I realised that to achieve anything what truly matters is discipline, dedication and patience. No one becomes anything over night and if you truly want to be good at your art, you need to put in the time. I loved Agassi’s journey and the way he breaks down his matches. As a person who knew nothing about tennis, I was gripped. I love the story of him meeting Steffi, it gives me hope and makes me believe in love. I really want to know what you thought of the book. Please leave a comment below and let me know?
Next month’s pick is Born A Crime by Trevor Noah! So you obviously know my obsession with Trevor and it actually started after reading this book. I was on a solo trip to Peru and reading this book during the trip made me feel like I was getting to know a friend. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. Noah is witty, charming, engaging and such a good storyteller. I’m looking forward to reading it again with you!
